You should investigate why the command "mkfifo tmp/dbpick_pipe" is failing.
You don't specify what architecture/os you're running, nor what version of Antelope. These
could be relevant.
The easiest thing to try is "dbloc2 -r your-db", which removes the tmp
directory and tries again.
