Dear all,
this to solicit any contributions from you to the session
**SD1 - "Seismic Centers Data Acquisition"**
at the European Seismological Commission (ESC) 32nd General Assembly in
Montpellier , France, 5-10 September, 2010
http://www.esc2010.eu/prog/sessions/sessions.php
"While the number and quality of seismic stations and networks installed
nowadays is quite satisfactory, the choice
of available data acquisition systems for medium size seismic data
centers acquiring data from diverse seismic dataloggers
is de facto restricted to two public domain software suites (namely
SeisComP originally developed by the
GEOFON program in Germany, and EarthWorm originally developed by USGS)
plus a commercial one (Antelope, developed
by the American commercial software house BRTT). Other seismic equipment
vendors (like Guralp, RefTek,
Nanometrics) also provide seismic data acquisition software (Scream!,
RTI, NAQS), but their software is not open in
terms of data loggers connectivity since they use proprietary formats
and protocols for data handling.
With SeisComP version 3.0 starting a licensing program and adding early
warning capabilities and EarthWorm being
currently maintained by a commercial software house (ISTI), we welcome
experiences in the management of medium
size seismic data centers using any kind of software, including home
made, in: data acquisition, event detection and
location, data archiving, data mining, data exchange"
Abstracts should be submitted by *31 May, 2010* as on-line submission
